Everyone has their flaws. Everyone needs some “medicine” to fix, or attempt to fix, these flaws. Although all of us could all of the medicines to help make us better people, I chose the ones that were most beneficial to the way I live. I could have chosen all fifteen, but instead I decided to focus on five that are relevant to me: Humility, Patience, Humor, Courage, and Strength.
When I first looked at the fifteen different amulets to choose from, humility really stood out to me because it is something that I have truly never worked on in my life. I don’t think of myself as a “cocky” or flashy type person, but I think that is a little different from humility. To be honest, I don’t think I completely understand what a person with humility is. But I know that this talisman is the one that I have spent the least time on.
Patience is something that we all, as the human race, need to work on. It amazes me how impatient other people can be. But that is a very bad case of hypocrisy because I know other people think of me as an impatient person. The key to patience is to put yourself in the other persons shoes. If you know that they are doing their best to get something accomplished, then you can’t become impatient with them. But, sometimes I think we all need to uphold a higher level of patience with one another.
Humor is something that I hold very close to me. I always say that my goal in life is to have fun, in one way or another. Whats the point of being on earth if your not going to enjoy it? I enjoy myself most through laughter and humor. Although I am not the funniest dude on Earth, I think that I have a very keen sense of humor. The great part about humor is that every single person has their own take on it. Different people find different things humorous. So in a way, we all have a perfect sense of humor in our own minds. (that probably made no sense)
Courage is the fourth amulet that I found. I think most people correlate courage to physical actions of bravery. But I like to think of courage as more of a mental bravery. As kids, we can’t be afraid to venture outside of our little box and test out some other waters. We cant be afraid to make our own path, something that i am very bad at. Sometimes i find myself just going with the flow when i need to be the one that makes his own diversion. Strength was the last talisman that I found. This is very closely related to courage. It takes a strong person to break apart from the crowd. Basically it takes a strong person to be courageous.
